in the Paiute language. It was used by Chief Truckee, a Paiute Indian, to greet and reassure westward-bound emigrants in the 1840s and 1850s. The word became associated with Chief Truckee, and the town and river of Truckee in the California Sierra were named after him.

Lauren Van Loon, Founder and Owner, has over 35 years of experience providing legal and risk management support services to small and large law firms and corporations. She recently retired from a 20-year career in financial crimes risk management at Wells Fargo Bank.

Lauren Van Loon, Founder and Owner, has over 35 years of experience providing legal and risk management support services to small and large law firms and corporations. She recently retired from a 20-year career in financial crimes risk management at Wells Fargo Bank.
Prior to her banking career, Lauren worked at a prestigious law firm in San Francisco and then started up several small businesses of her own, including contract management for telecommunications clients during the fiber optic build-out in the Bay Area, bookkeeping and office management services for a successful landscaping business in Truckee, and creating and managing an e-commerce website focused on side hustles and gig work.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration - Economics degree from Loyola University of Chicago and is currently completing her QuickBooks certifications.
